I have first hand experience of Jonathan Ratner’s sales style as he spent a period of two months persuading me that what our highly sucessful agency needed was a dedicated new business person to offset the efforts of our account teams.
As the ‘victim’ of his approach I can confirm that he is both persistent and charming, managing to combine a hard nosed new business approach with a knowledge of the business he is approaching to give him credibility.

Jonathan and I worked together in national newspaper display sales a few years back, so I had a good understanding of his skills and operating style before we started working together again more recently.
I now run a publishing company with six titles, consumer and B2B, as well as producing a number of contract publishing solutions for key clients within the UK property new build sector.

Jonathan was employed by Leighton Media over a six-month period starting November 2001. During that time he demonstrated a consistent ability to open doors with key players within sectors that we were looking to target.
Those sectors included football, music, entertainment and e-commerce and examples are as follows: the Football Association, BMG, UIP and Charles Tyrwhitt. Unfortunately this was at a time where market conditions were not in our favour and, being a North East based company, decided strategically to concentrate within the region where we previously had most success.

Esprit Communications was looking to develop its MegaVision Marketing division and we needed to sell to a number of blue chip companies within the outdoor advertising, petrol forecourt and multiple retail sectors with which we had no previous contact.
Jonathan, through the Oakwood Consultancy, has been working for MegaVision for only one day a week for five weeks now. During that time Jonathan has set up well-qualified meetings with the following companies. I now have an on-going relationship with all of them.
Viacom Outdoor, Oddbins, Murco Petroleum, Electronic Boutique and the Royal Bank of Scotland.
There are also several other meetings that have been created that are coming up over the next few weeks, as well as a number of relationships that Jonathan has established for us, from which I am certain new channels of business will open for MegaVision.
